Why did the Messenger, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, inform us of the signs of the Hour, and does the fact that an action is one of the signs of the Hour necessitate abandoning it?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us of the Signs of the Hour to encourage us to perform righteous deeds and to fear Allah. A Sign of the Hour does not necessarily have to be praised or condemned; rather, it is merely an indication of the Hour's proximity. Whether a sign is praised or condemned is derived from the Sharia (definition) texts. The Signs of the Hour are divided into three categories: condemned (such as widespread fornication and usury), praised (such as the spread of Islam), and signs that are neither praised nor condemned (such as the splitting of the moon and the emergence of the Beast).
