What are the minor and major signs of the Hour, with reliance on what is authentically reported from the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?

The signs of the Hour are divided into two categories: minor signs and major signs. The minor signs are numerous, six of which are mentioned in the Hadith of Auf bin Malik in Bukhari: the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; the conquest of Jerusalem; a widespread plague like the qafas disease that affects sheep; the abundance of wealth; a tribulation that enters every Arab home; and a truce with the Byzantines followed by treachery and fighting. Among the other minor signs are: the disappearance of knowledge, the prevalence of ignorance, the increase in earthquakes, tribulations, and killing, the widespread practice of adultery and alcohol consumption, and the scarcity of men coupled with an abundance of women. As for the major signs, they are momentous events that precede the Hour directly, including: the appearance of the Dajjal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary, the emergence of Gog and Magog, the Smoke, three landslips: one in the East, one in the West, and one in the Arabian Peninsula, and a fire that emerges from Yemen.
