What is the ruling on inducing the birth of a fetus in the eighth month so that the family can devote themselves to worship in Ramadan?

Early delivery for the purpose of fasting is not recommended, because Islamic law is based on ease and removing hardship. The sick and the traveler have been granted permission to break their fast in Ramadan (definition). If the reason for expediting is fear for the mother or the fetus from fasting, then she is permitted to break her fast. If it is due to fear of nifas (definition) (postnatal bleeding), then she is excused and obligated to break her fast. The desire to fast is a sign of goodness, and its owner is hoped to receive the reward of fasting. There is no prohibition against expediting delivery if trustworthy doctors confirm that there is no harm to the mother or the newborn.
