What is the virtue of the month of Rajab, and are the hadiths about deeds being raised in it authentic?

The month of Rajab is one of the four sacred months, and it is called Rajab al-Fard or Rajab Mudar. Islam abolished the 'Atirah sacrifice, which used to be offered during this month in the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah). No authentic has been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning the virtues of the month of Rajab, or its fasting, or observing a night vigil within it. Nevertheless, there is no harm in fasting during it if it is customary for a man, such as fasting the White Days or fasting on Mondays and Thursdays.
