Is it obligatory to perform ghusl again, or to complete the prayer, if a woman performed ghusl after the cessation of menstrual bleeding and the area became dry, and then a yellow discharge, similar to what appears on outer clothing, was emitted from her?

A woman recognizes purity (ṭuhr) by one of two signs: dryness (khurūj al-quṭnah naqīyah – the cotton swab coming out clean), or the white discharge (al-qaṣṣah al-bayḍāʾ). As soon as she sees either of these, she must perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath). Any yellow or brownish discharge she sees after that is not considered menstruation. It is advisable to abandon obsessive thoughts and promptly perform ghusl upon confirming purity, disregarding anything that appears thereafter. A woman prone to obsessive thoughts may adopt the view of those who do not consider yellow or brownish discharge as menstruation at all, in order to relieve herself of hardship.
