Voluntary Prayers
- Does the belief that one should prioritize the performance of Sunnah and voluntary prayers over what one deems better for one's livelihood and bodily health, based on the understanding that whoever believes there is guidance better than that of the Prophet commits an act of disbelief (kufr), render a person a disbeliever?
- How does a quadriplegic who cannot speak perform his prayer? Is it by intention while lying down, or must he be seated for the prayer?
- What is the wisdom behind mentioning the building of houses in Paradise in exchange for specific regular Sunnah prayers, despite the fact that the people of Paradise attain whatever they wish for and request therein?
- What does a Muslim lose if he abandons night prayer (Qiyam al-Layl)? And does he thereby lose the titles of "Ibād al-Raḥmān" (Servants of the Most Merciful), "al-Muttaqīn" (the Pious), and "al-Qānit" (the Devout)? And does he lose the distinguished status of those who pray at night, the opportunity for their supplications to be answered, Allah's care, and the ability to bear the weighty word? And will his good deeds not expiate his bad deeds, and will he not be resurrected to a praised station? And does he lose the contentment that Allah promised him and His care for him, and patience with His decree, and what Allah has hidden for those who pray at night as a comfort to their eyes? And does he lose his adherence to our master, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and to the Companions?
- Do the regular (Sunnah) prayers, by which a house is built in Paradise, have to be performed regularly after the obligatory (Fard) prayers, or is it permissible to perform them at any time of the day? And is it permissible to pray the two (Sunnah) rak'ahs of Fajr after the Fajr Adhan and before the obligatory (Fard) prayer?
