How is the wedding night prayer performed, is it to be recited aloud or silently, what is to be recited in it, and when is the time for supplication?

Some scholars have recommended praying two rak'ahs before consummating the marriage with one's wife. No sunnah (definition) from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has been reported regarding this; rather, it has been reported from some of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. So, if the husband prays two rak'ahs, there is no harm, and if he does not, there is no harm; the matter in this regard is broad. The two rak'ahs should be prayed aloud at night and silently during the day. As for the supplication, he should place his hand on the front of her head and say: "(O Allah, I ask You for her goodness and the goodness of what You have instilled in her, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of what You have instilled in her)." He may supplicate with this before or after the prayer.
