Is it Islamically permissible to undergo a surgical operation to remove skin sagginess resulting from weight loss, and not old age, and is this permissible for both men and women?

Enhancement plastic surgeries—those intended to improve appearance without compelling necessity—are prohibited by Islamic law for the following reasons:

1. They involve altering Allah's creation, as stated in the Almighty's words: "and I will surely command them, and they will change the creation of Allah." [An-Nisa:119].

2. What the two Sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim) reported from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) curse those who pluck eyebrows (al-mutanammisat) and those who make gaps between their teeth (al-mutafallijat) for beauty, those who alter Allah's creation.

3. Such procedures often entail certain prohibitions, such as anesthesia and exposing awrah (private parts) without an urgent necessity.

It is advised to avoid these procedures and attempt treatment through topical means or by gaining a little weight. This ruling applies generally to both men and women.
