Does anything become binding upon me if I make the intention for Umrah after arriving in Jeddah, then enter into a state of ihram from Makkah and perform the Umrah?

The obligation was to enter into a state of ihram (definition) for Umrah (definition) from Jeddah, because whoever passes the miqat (definition) without the intention of performing Umrah, and then later forms that intention, must enter into ihram from the place where he formed the intention. This is based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "And whoever is closer than that (the miqat), then from where he commences." Accordingly, entering into ihram from Makkah after having passed Jeddah without doing so, results in the omission of an obligation of Umrah, and thus necessitates the sacrifice of a animal (dam) to be distributed among the poor of Makkah.
