Is it permissible to sell sandwiches during the daytime in Ramadan, knowing that there is no distinction between a Muslim and a Christian in purchasing?

It is not permissible to sell food and drink during the daytime in Ramadan (definition) to those Muslims for whom fasting is obligatory, because it is considered cooperation in sin. It is permissible to sell if it is known that the buyer wants it for someone with a legitimate excuse, such as the sick or the elderly. However, if the matter is unclear, or if it is highly probable that it will be used by someone for whom it is not permissible, then it is better to resolve the matter decisively. Some scholars have issued fatwas regarding the obligation to close restaurants during the daytime in Ramadan.
