The fundamental principle in choosing a spouse is their religiosity and character, for in these lie the happiness of both worlds. Salafism is a methodology for every Muslim who follows the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions with excellence, and it is far from extremism, for religion is ease. Extremism is exaggeration in applying the commands of religion in a way that burdens the soul, and it differs from adhering to the Sacred Law. If the young man possesses religiosity and good character, and adheres to the Sacred Law without exaggeration, then he is a blessing; do not hesitate to accept him after performing Istikhara.
