What is the warning and clarification regarding the division of the Salafis in one of the villages into two factions: the Hijazis and the Albanis?

Salafism is a methodology, meaning a return to understanding the Qur'an and Sunnah (definition) and acting upon them as the righteous predecessors of the Ummah did. The Ummah is called to unite upon this methodology, not to diverge and form factions. Sheikh Al-Albani and his brethren among the scholars of the Hijaz were not deviant from this methodology. Their disagreements were on issues over which scholars have differed throughout the ages, without animosity. One must be wary of following the footsteps of Satan in causing division and factionalism, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only with Allah; then He will inform them about what they used to do."
