Is there a specific supplication for students who do not learn easily, and is the supplication, "O Allah, open Your wisdom to us, and spread Your mercy upon us, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor," suitable for that?

A seeker of understanding should adhere to two fundamental principles: First, taking real steps to achieve understanding by listening attentively, focusing, memorizing, thinking, and asking questions. Second, sincerely seeking refuge in Allah by asking Him for understanding and knowledge, for knowledge is a light that Allah casts into the heart.

Ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned in "I'lam al-Muwaqqi'in" that when a Mufti is faced with an issue, he should turn his heart to Allah, the inspirer of correctness, to seek His help. Then, he should turn to the texts of the Quran, the Sunnah, and the traditions of the Companions. If anything becomes difficult for him, he should seek Allah's forgiveness and remember Him frequently, for knowledge is a light that Allah casts into the heart. It has been narrated from Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah that he used to seek Allah's forgiveness thousands of times for his chest to be expanded and his problems to be solved.

There is no specific supplication for seeking understanding mentioned in the Sunnah, but the Salaf used various supplications and remembrances, including: - "O Allah, Lord of Jibreel, Mika'eel, and Israfeel, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants concerning that wherein they differ. Guide me to the truth concerning that wherein they have differed, by Your permission, for You guide whom You will to a straight path." - "O Teacher of Ibrahim! Teach me." - "Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Verily, it is You who are the All-Knower, the All-Wise." - "There is no power nor strength except with Allah." - "What Allah wills, there is no power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great." - "My Lord, expand for me my breast, and ease for me my affair, and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech." - "O Allah, grant me success, guide me, make me steadfast, combine for me correctness and reward, and excuse me from error and deprivation." - Reciting Al-Fatiha.

The ultimate reliance in all of this is on pure intention and sincere devotion, for the closeness of the heart to Allah increases the light of discovering the truth, while disobedience weakens that light. Allah Almighty said: (O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion).
