Is there in the Prophetic Sunnah a specific supplication for starting studying, which is: "O Allah, I ask You for the understanding of the prophets, the memorization of the messengers, and the inspiration of the closest angels. O Allah, we ask You to make our tongues filled with Your remembrance, our hearts with Your obedience, and our innermost thoughts with Your awe, for indeed You are capable of all things"?

This supplication has no chain of transmission (isnad), and no specific supplication for studying has been reported in the Sunnah. However, it is authentically reported from Mu'adh ibn Jabal that his shaykh, Ibn Taymiyyah, whenever he faced difficult issues, would say: "O Teacher of Ibrahim, teach me." And Ibn Hibban narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Allah, there is no ease except that which You make easy, and You make hardship easy if You wish."
