Is it permissible for a woman who vowed to fast a large number of days and pledged to slaughter sheep, and who is now pregnant, divorced, and without means, to expiate her fasting vow with three days, and is there an expiation due for her vow concerning the sheep?

It is disliked to make a contingent vow, but it is obligatory to fulfill it if the contingency occurs, due to Allah's saying: "And let them fulfill their vows." (Al-Hajj: 29), and the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him."

Regarding the determination of the fasting period, it is obligatory to fast the shortest certain period, and it is more cautious to fast the period of doubt, in order to clear oneself of responsibility.

If fasting becomes difficult due to pregnancy or similar reasons, it is permissible to delay it until the impediment is removed.

Expiating a vow by fasting three days is not valid unless there is permanent inability.

Regarding the vow of sheep, whoever vows more than they possess must give as charity one-third of what they owned on the day of the vow. If they possessed nothing beyond their needs, then they must offer an oath expiation.
