The answer

Tawakkul (reliance on others) is dependence on created beings, and it is blameworthy in Islamic law because it contradicts taking means (asbab). It does not prevent the decreed sustenance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions condemned those who performed Hajj without provisions, claiming reliance on Allah (tawakkul). So Allah revealed the verse: (And take provisions, for indeed, the best provision is righteousness) [Quran 2:197].
