What is the ruling on taking means to seek provision, and will what has been decreed for a person come to him without means if his provision has already been written while he was in his mother's womb? And what is the meaning of the Almighty's saying: "I do not want from them any provision"?

Taking the necessary means is a religious requirement and should not be abandoned. There are Quranic and prophetic texts that emphasize this, such as the Prophet's (peace be upon him) advice: "Tie your camel and then rely on Allah," and his saying: "So walk among its slopes and eat from His provision." The Permanent Committee has affirmed that what is required by Islamic law is to combine taking means with reliance on Allah. Whoever relies solely on means without reliance on Allah is a polytheist, and whoever relies on Allah while neglecting means is ignorant and negligent. Nevertheless, sustenance is predetermined and will come to a person even if they are lazy in pursuing the means, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, the Holy Spirit inspired in my soul that no soul shall die until it completes its term and receives its full sustenance." As for Allah’s saying: "I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me," the meaning is that Allah is self-sufficient from His creation and does not desire any benefit from them.
