Is it permissible to deal with banks if the salary is transferred to them, knowing that the wages will not be withdrawn in full monthly?
Usurious banks are evil, corrupt, and warring against Allah. A Muslim must be cautious of dealing with them, except out of necessity.
Among these necessities is the disbursement of salaries to employees through usurious banks. This act is forbidden for entities that compel their employees to do so. However, there is no sin upon the employee if they receive their salary in this manner, provided certain conditions are met: 1. The employee finds no other way to receive their salary. 2. The employee does not leave any part of their salary in the usurious bank.
The solution for someone in dire need is to open a current account solely for the purpose of having their salary transferred into it.
The Permanent Committee issued a fatwa permitting the receipt of salaries disbursed through a bank, provided that the money is not left in the bank for usurious investment.
Sheikh Al-Uthaymeen also issued a fatwa permitting the opening of an account to receive salary if there is no other way, provided that no additional funds are deposited by the employee.
It is permissible to leave money in usurious banks for safekeeping under certain conditions.
