What were the words Adam received from his Lord in Surat Al-Baqarah, verse 37: "Then Adam received from his Lord [certain] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepter of Repentance, the Merciful"?

The exegetes have reported that the words Adam received from his Lord were: "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." (Quran 7:23) It was also said: "Glorified are You, O Allah, and with Your praise, and blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your Majesty, there is no god but You. I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for indeed none forgives sins except You." Most scholars lean towards the first opinion. If a sinner wishes to repent, they should say what Adam said, or what Moses said: "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me" (Quran 28:16), or what Jonah said: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers." (Quran 21:87)
