Why did God answer Abraham and not Moses when they asked to see Him?

The apparent reason for the non-response to Musa's request is that he asked to see Allah Almighty in this world, which is something Allah decreed would not happen; as Allah Almighty said: "No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Subtle, the All-Aware," and as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, you will not see your Lord until you die."
