Does the deceased feel his neighbors if he stays at home before burial?

When a person dies, they transition to the Barzakh (interim realm), which is part of the Unseen, and nothing is known about it except what has been revealed through divine inspiration. The deceased has feelings and awareness of what the living are doing and what is happening around them, but the details of this are known only through a religious text. This is indicated by the following:

1. Hearing: Scholars have favored the view that the dead can hear the voices of the living.

2. Comfort: It is narrated in the hadith of Amr ibn al-Aas that he requested his companions to stay around his grave for the time it takes to slaughter a camel, so that he might feel comforted by them.

3. Rejoicing: The deceased rejoice at the visits of the living, and the Salaf are in agreement that the dead know of the living's visit and rejoice in it.

4. Awareness of the living's news: Ibn Taymiyyah inferred that the deeds of the living are presented to the dead based on a mawquf narration from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari.
