Is it permissible for a wife to seek divorce from her husband who disrespects her, mistreats her, and slanders her character, despite his generosity and tenderness?

A woman is not permitted to seek a divorce from her husband without a legitimate Shar'i reason; otherwise, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her. However, she is allowed to seek a divorce if the husband does not pray. Nevertheless, it is better for the wife to persistently advise her husband gently and to seek the help of experienced individuals to counsel him. If these methods do not work, then she should consult with her family, weigh the harm of divorce against the harm of remaining with him, and choose the lesser of the two harms, along with performing Istikhara (prayer for guidance).
