Is it permissible for a woman to seek divorce from her infertile husband, who treats her poorly, insults her and her family, looks at other women, and goes out late with his friends, even though he is not negligent in his financial duties towards the household, and refuses any discussion or advice?

It is not permissible for a woman to seek divorce without a legitimate Shar'i reason, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any strong reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her." If the husband is infertile and ill-mannered, the woman has the right to seek divorce, but patience is preferable, for Allah may rectify him. Goodness lies in what transpires after performing the Istikhara prayer, whether it be divorce or remaining in the marriage.
