Are the nightmares a husband sees in his sleep, in which he sees his wife harming him, evidence of sorcery performed on him or on his wife to separate them? And is the wife's inability to comprehend what is said to her, or her answering with a reply far from the topic, related to that? What is the treatment for this? And if the husband refuses to use sidr because there is no evidence from the Sunnah, is there an alternative for it in the ruqyah for binding magic?

The strange actions of a husband during sleep and the frightening things he sees might be due to self-talk (حديث نفس) or manipulation by Satan. He should get up and pray and not tell people about it.

If it is strongly suspected that the matter is unusual, such as magic (sihr), it can be presented to experienced individuals from among the righteous. Magic has discernible signs, and there is a beneficial Ruqyah (Islamic incantation).

Using sidr (lote tree leaves) for treating magic is permissible. This was recommended by the Salaf and scholars and falls under permissible Ruqyah that involves no shirk (polytheism). Sidr is not strictly necessary for undoing magic; one can suffice with recitation alone, or reciting over water for drinking and bathing, and reciting the Quran in the house, especially Surah Al-Baqarah.

There is no harm in performing Ruqyah on others, but it is better for a person to perform Ruqyah on themselves.
