Is it permissible to use contraceptives if the wife needs time for her studies, household duties, and raising children, especially after she has given birth to five children and is in good health to conceive?

The Islamic Sharia desires the spread and multiplication of offspring, as it is a great blessing. Therefore, one should not strive to stop procreation except out of necessity or for a preponderant benefit. If the spouses see a benefit in preventing pregnancy for a period of time—not severing it completely—there is no harm in that, provided they adhere to the legal Islamic guidelines.
