A woman is obligated to perform ghusl (ritual bath) upon the discharge of maniy (seminal fluid), whether it occurs while awake with desire, or during sleep unconditionally. This fluid has distinct characteristics. If these characteristics are absent, then ghusl is not obligatory; rather, only wudu' (ablution) is required. The mentioned discharges are often vaginal moisture. If a woman is uncertain whether the discharge is maniy or moisture, she may choose between the two options, and ghusl is not necessarily incumbent upon her.
