Does my husband have full rights over me after the marriage contract, and will the angels curse me if I dispute with him or refuse his request?

If the شرعي ( Shar'i) marriage contract is concluded, the woman becomes a wife, and it becomes permissible for the man to consummate the marriage with her. However, custom dictates that consummation should not occur until after the wedding, and this custom should be respected. It is permissible for the wife to refuse to surrender herself to her husband until he pays her the prompt (due) mahr (dowry). The wife's obedience before consummation is to her guardian, not to her husband. As long as she is with her family, she is under the authority of her family, and her family manages her affairs. The husband does not have the right to command her, forbid her, or prevent her from leaving, except that she is legally his wife, and she is not permitted to marry anyone else. However, it is not permissible for her to abuse her husband or abandon him without just cause. What incurs the curse of the angels is her refusal to share her husband's bed without a valid شرعي (Shar'i) excuse or justification, such as her refusal until he pays the prompt mahr (dowry).
