It is not permissible for an employee to take a commission for the work they contracted to do with their employer unless the employer knows and permits it, because the employee is an agent for the employer. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa stating that it is impermissible for an intermediary to take a commission from another company they deal with on behalf of their own company, because they receive a monthly salary, and because this is a cause for favoritism and a violation of the company's rights regarding price and quality of goods. It has also issued a fatwa stating that it is impermissible for employees in a government entity to accept gifts from contracting companies, because this falls under bribery, and "gifts to workers are defalcation."
