Is it permissible to draw and sell garments that are subject to contempt and contain images, and what is the reason for permitting their use if drawing and selling them is forbidden?

The ruling on photography has been previously clarified: it is not permissible for a Muslim to imitate Allah’s creation. As for images that are treated disrespectfully (al-mumtahan), their use is permissible—according to the majority of scholars—because the Lawgiver (Allah) has allowed it, as affirmed by the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) approval. This is evident in the حديث (Hadith (definition)) of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when she made a curtain with images (statues) and then turned it into a pillow. The Sharia (definition) permitted the use of such images after their existence, in consideration of reality and preservation of wealth. However, this does not mean that it permits the creator to draw animate beings.
