Should a person who was adopted as an infant—and is now married—be informed of the fact that they are a foundling?

An adopted child must be informed of their true origin, because Islam prohibits adoption and because of the implications of their ignorance, such as touching and seeing those they are not permitted to, like their adoptive father's wife and her daughters. Furthermore, unlawful inheritance might occur. Islam has indeed nullified adoption. Allah Almighty says: "And He has not made your adopted sons your [true] sons. That is [merely] your saying by your mouths, but Allah says the truth, and He guides to the [right] way. Call them by [the names of] their fathers; it is more just in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers - then they are your brothers in religion and your allies."
