What is the ruling on a wife who disobeys her husband and threatens him with leaving the marital home and seeking khulʿ (divorce initiated by the wife) in court?

It is obligatory for both spouses to treat each other kindly. Part of this perfection is for each to be good to the other's family. A wife's maintaining ties with her husband's family is not obligatory, but rather an act of noble character. A wife's disobedience to her husband in matters where obedience is due is not permissible. Infertility is not considered a defect that grants the right to annulment according to the majority of scholars. A wife has the right to request a divorce due to not having children, but the husband is not obligated to grant it to her. He may refuse until some of her rights are forfeited.
