What should a daughter do who suffers from her parents' contradictions in priorities and methods of upbringing, which puts her in a dilemma between pleasing one and displeasing the other, especially with a frequently complaining father and a strict mother, which affects her psyche and studies?

Filial piety is among the best acts of worship and obedience. Their right does not diminish due to their ill-treatment, and disobeying them is one of the gravest sins. The forbidden disobedience is that which causes severe harm to the parents by custom. The general rule is the obligation to combine obedience to both parents in what is good. If combining is not possible, then the mother's obedience takes precedence over the father's. It is advised to be patient, seek Allah's help, strive to be dutiful to them with wisdom and gentleness, and persistently supplicate for them. Whatever acts of piety can be performed fulfill the obligation, and whatever one is unable to do is under Allah's forgiveness.
