How sound is the Hadith that mentions six signs, until which war will not lay down its burdens: the first is the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; then the conquest of Jerusalem; then two tribulations; then the appearance of a boy from Banu al-Asfar who will rule them and be twelve years old, and at his hands there will be a battle for the Muslims that ends with the conquest of Constantinople; then the sixth is the emergence of the Dajjal?

Al-Hakim authenticated a hadith (definition) about the Signs of the Hour, but Al-Dhahabi disagreed due to its discontinuity. Al-Bukhari and Ibn Mandah narrated similar hadiths about the Signs of the Hour, and Ibn Mandah and Al-Albani authenticated its chain of transmission. Ibn Mandah narrated from Awf ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned six Signs of the Hour: the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; the conquest of Jerusalem; a tribulation that will afflict all Arabs; a disease like the qasas of sheep; the abundance of wealth; and a truce with Banu Al-Asfar (the Byzantines) followed by their treachery, attacking with a large army.
