Whoever wishes to marry should think rationally and calmly, studying the matter well, and not rushing into it merely due to love, especially if the girl suffers from an illness that requires years of treatment. It is not permissible to repeatedly look at the girl or speak with her without need; looking once or as much as necessary suffices. It is advised to deliberate regarding this girl, and if it becomes clear that she possesses good character and religiosity, and you are confident in your ability to bear what may arise from her illness, then there is no harm in proposing to her.
