The answer

Abu Isma'il al-Harawi, an Imam, a Hafiz, a Mufassir, a drawn sword against the theologians, severe with the people of innovation, he upheld the Sunnah and defended it with intensity, and due to this, he faced many tribulations. He greatly revered the Madhhab of Imam Ahmad. He was proficient in language and a memorizer of Hadith. He would enter upon princes and not care for them, while he would go to great lengths to honor a stranger from among the Hadith scholars. He authored books, including "Dhamm al-Kalam" (Censure of Theology), "Manazil al-Sa'irin" (Stations of the Seekers), and "al-Faruq fi al-Sifat" (The Criterion in Attributes). He lived a simple life and spent what came to him on the poor, yet he appeared wealthy out of veneration for the religion. He passed away in the year 481 AH at the age of 84.
