How should we handle the Udhiyah? Do we divide it into three parts or four?

It is legislated for the one offering the sacrifice (Udhiyah) to eat from it, give some as gifts, and donate some in charity; based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿So eat from them and feed the distressed, the poor﴾, and ﴿So eat from them and feed the content and the beggar﴾. It is preferable to eat a third, gift a third, and donate a third. It is permissible to store what is allowed to be eaten from it, except in a year of famine, in which case it is forbidden to store for more than three days. There is no difference in the permissibility of eating and gifting, whether the sacrifice is voluntary or obligatory, or on behalf of a living person or a deceased one. The agent does so if the principal permits him or if circumstantial evidence and custom indicate it. It is forbidden to sell anything from the sacrifice or to give the butcher part of it as payment for his wages. As for someone who receives a gift from it or is given it as charity, he may dispose of it as he wishes, except for selling it back to the one who gifted or donated it to him.
