Is it permissible to provide financial assistance to the mosque's imam from the revenues of a building owned by the mosque's endowments?

If the aforementioned revenues are an endowment (waqf) for a mosque and its maintenance, then the condition of the endower must be adhered to, and it is not permissible to spend them on anything other than what he specified; because the condition of the endower is like the text of the Lawgiver, as long as it does not contradict it. However, if the endower did not specify a particular charitable work, and intended acts of righteousness, then there is no objection to the Imam of the mosque and other workers therein, as well as the poor and needy, benefiting from it, especially if they are in need or if that helps them in performing their duty.
