What is the ruling on the prayer of one who was unable to perform it due to illness, while being aware of the inability and promising to make up what was missed?

Prayer is not waived for a conscious sick person unless they lose their sanity, based on Allah's saying: ﴿So fear Allah as much as you are able﴾ [At-Taghabun: 16], and the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Pray standing; if you are unable, then sitting; and if you are unable, then on your side." Abandoning prayer is a grave error. Therefore, it is recommended to supplicate, seek forgiveness, and give charity on behalf of the deceased, for the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge from which others benefit, or a righteous child who supplicates for him."
