What is the ruling regarding my prayer and the method of my purification if some traces of stool continue to be discharged after defecation? Am I to be treated like a person afflicted with سلس (incontinence)? What should I do if this coincides with the time for the obligatory prayer or Friday prayer? Is it permissible for me to lead people in prayer and touch the Qur’an? Is it obligatory for me to take precautions with anything?

If you know that the discharge will stop before the prayer time expires, with enough time to perform the prayer, then you must wait until it stops, even if this leads to delaying the prayer until the time of necessity, such as the sun turning yellow for Asr prayer. This is permissible due to an excuse. You must also wait even if it means missing the Jumu'ah prayer. However, if you know that it will not stop until after the time expires, then pray in your current state after istinja (cleaning oneself), taking precautions, and performing wudu. You should not lead others in prayer who are not in a similar state to you. As for touching the Mus'haf (Qur'an), if you become afflicted with سلس (incontinence), then it is permissible for you to touch it. You are not required to take precautions if you are confident that the impurity will not spread. And beware of obsessive doubts if you are not certain that impurity has been discharged.
