What is the ruling on removing an extra bone from the forehead, knowing that it is in the area of prostration and causes disfigurement?

It is permissible to perform the surgery as a treatment to remove the defect and restore the forehead to its original creation, without seeking excessive enhancement. This is in accordance with the decision of the Islamic Fiqh Academy, which permits necessary and needs-based cosmetic surgery aimed at restoring the natural shape or function of organs, or repairing congenital or acquired defects, or removing disfigurement causing harm. However, it does not permit cosmetic surgery for enhancement that alters the normal human creation.
