Is it permissible to undergo a surgical procedure to remove a protrusion in the chest that causes embarrassment?

It is permissible to perform a surgical operation to remove breast prominence if it causes embarrassment and distress, as it is considered a harm. However, if it is merely for beautification, then it is not permissible to alter Allah's creation. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa permitting the operation if success is highly probable and no harm arises that exceeds or equals its benefit.
