The question

What is the ruling on supplicating with Duas not mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah, such as the supplication: "O Allah, make the beginning of this day righteousness, its middle success, and its end triumph, and we seek refuge in You from a day whose beginning is panic, its middle anguish, and its end pain," given that it does not contradict the conditions of Dua?

The answer

The first part of this supplication was reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with a weak chain of transmission. Other narrations of it exist with different wording. As for the second part, it has not been found in the books of Sunnah. There is no objection to supplicating with these two parts, because supplication does not require to be a reported one, although supplicating with reported supplications is better.
