How can one get rid of photographs found in the home, and is it permissible to destroy them by burning after learning that photography is forbidden? And will Allah forgive the sin of embroidering images of animate beings after sincere repentance, regret, and the resolve not to return to it? And is it permissible to photograph natural landscapes or handicrafts that do not contain images of animate beings?

Issues concerning photography and drawing of animate beings are a matter of scholarly disagreement. If those who issue fatwas (religious edicts) differ, the one who seeks to emulate should follow the one they trust most. As for photographing inanimate objects, such as natural landscapes, there is no harm in it. Prohibited drawing and photography, like other sins, if one repents from it, Allah will accept their repentance. Anything previously drawn must be removed or defaced if it is in one's possession. As for what belongs to others, one is only required to advise them.
