Should one go to a shaykh for ruqyah shariyah (Islamic exorcism) to treat symptoms that appeared during the examination period, especially with the belief that they might be caused by jinn possession or sorcery?

We advise the questioner to hold fast to Allah and supplicate Him frequently, especially during times when prayers are answered, and to recite the Quran daily with the intention of healing and reward. She should also maintain the morning and evening remembrances (adhkar) and those before sleep, as reciting them protects one from devils and sorcerers. Furthermore, reciting Surat Al-Baqarah and Ayat Al-Kursi in the home expels devils. She should also consistently recite the supplication of Dhun-Nun: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." There is no objection to taking medicine or to ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing) performed by someone skilled in it, while staying away from charlatans.
