What is the ruling on one who thought it permissible to wipe over socks for three days for a traveler who returns home daily, and is he required to repeat the prayers he performed in this manner?

The journey ends when the traveler returns to his home, becoming a resident, and must repeat the prayers in which he wiped over his socks for more than a day and a night. This is because Islamic law specifies the duration of wiping as one day and one night for a resident, and three days and nights for a traveler. When this period ends, the ritual purity becomes invalid, and consequently, the prayer becomes invalid due to purity being a prerequisite for it. The Maliki school of thought holds that there is no specific duration for wiping, and thus, the prayer does not become invalid nor does it require repetition. However, the view of the majority of scholars is stronger and more preferable. Ibn Taymiyyah and those who agreed with him held that whoever omits a condition or a pillar out of ignorance is not required to repeat it, but the view of the majority is more cautious, requiring repetition.
