What is the ruling of Islam regarding AIDS patients who were born with it? Is this considered a tribulation? And what is the duty of the Muslim community towards them, especially given the possibility of their marriage and bearing uninfected children, and in light of the misconceptions about the ways the disease is transmitted?

A person contracting AIDS, especially if they have committed no sin, is a trial from Allah. The believer must show gratitude in times of ease and patience in times of hardship, for their patience expiates their sins. The ill mother is enjoined to be patient and repent, and the infected child, upon reaching maturity, is enjoined to be patient. Society must support these patients religiously, psychologically, socially, and financially by clarifying the religious facts, providing specialized psychological support, educating society to change negative perceptions, and offering financial support for treatment and securing livelihoods. Indeed, assisting those afflicted is among the objectives and ethics of Islamic law.
