Should Muslims withdraw from universities and companies due to the mixing, forbidden acts, and mockery of religion found therein, or is engaging with these environments obligatory, and which is better: to be preoccupied with trade or to enter these environments despite their drawbacks?

Allah the Almighty created man with an inclination towards woman, and woman with an inclination towards man. He forbade zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) and its precursors, such as khalwa (private seclusion of a man and a woman who are not mahram), intermingling, shaking hands, and looking. He legislated marriage as a legitimate path for the relationship between the two sexes.

If a person is compelled to study or work in a mixed environment due to the unavailability of an alternative, then he must fear Allah to the best of his ability. He should strive to lower his gaze and restrain himself from excessive looking, talking, and intermingling. He must adhere to the limits of necessity required by his work or studies, without expanding in mixing with women or speaking to them except when necessary.
