What is the ruling on wearing Ihram garments that have snaps?

It is not permissible to use snaps (buttons) in the state of ihram, because they make the ihram garment encircle the body, and they are like buttons and stitching that encircle the body or part of it. Wearing anything that encircles the body is forbidden for the muhrim (person in a state of ihram), and whoever wears it must offer a fidyah (expiatory sacrifice).
