Is a daughter's telling her father, "You do not have a daughter, and I am dead to you, and I do not want a father like you who wrongs me and does not restore my rights," considered disobedience to parents, knowing his cruelty and neglect towards her?

The father's right is great, and his mistreatment or injustice does not negate his right or permit mistreatment of him. It is permissible to advise him and enjoin good upon him and forbid evil from him with gentleness and respect, and not like others. His treatment should be with politeness, veneration, humility, and gentle speech. Allah Almighty says: "So do not say to them, 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small.'" Bad words spoken to a father when angry are not permissible and may constitute disobedience. One must repent, apologize, seek forgiveness, and be sincere to Allah, for honoring one's parents is among the most beloved deeds to Allah and the greatest in reward, and Allah forgives the slips of the one who honors his parents.
