Is it permissible for a woman to soften her voice, or speak impolitely, or sing, or ululate, or laugh loudly, or prolong speech unnecessarily with a non-mahram man?

The Shari'a has established a robust framework for interactions between men and women, as a warning against temptation (fitna). For this reason, jurists have been strict regarding a woman's speech with non-mahram (definition) men, especially young women. Therefore, communication between a woman and a non-mahram man should be restricted to the narrowest scope, for necessity, and only to the extent of that necessity, while observing modesty and proper conduct, and avoiding anything that might lead to temptation.
